Matthew Carnahan is the creator of Showtimes hit series “House of Lies”. He wrote and produced all 56 episodes of the dark comedy that chronicles the misadventures of super star business management consultant Marty Kaan [Don Cheadle] and his associates [Kristen Bell, Ben Schwartz & Josh Lawson]. During his 5 years as showrunner Matthew directed six of the season premier and finale episodes.
Carnahan directed the Series Finale, the first Scripted TV show to film in Cuba in over fifty-five years. The final episode airs June 12th 2016.
One of Hollywood’s elite showrunners Carnahan also created the critically acclaimed series “Dirt” & “Trinity”. “Dirt” a dark comedy about schizophrenic paparazzi [Ian Hart] and tabloid magazine editor [Courtney Cox] aired for 20 episodes on FX. Carnahan directed the pilot and season finale.
MC has directed two feature films, “Black Circle Boys”, which premiered at Sundance, and “Rudyland” a feature length documentary chronicling Rudy Giuliani’s tumultuous terms as Mayor of New York City.
Matthew Carnahan got his start as a playwright where his work writing and directing Off-Broadway caught the attention of actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
